Events and Things to Do in the Town

Agricultural Show

Shepton Mallet is lucky to have an amazing agricultural show once a year which takes place in August. It is a huge event, with lots to see and do and it is free to enter.

Every year Shepton Mallet as well as many neighbouring towns, host this spectacular carnival which consists of many impressive floats and provides a night of entertainment.

Collett Park

Set in the heart of Shepton Mallet is the well-loved Collett Park. The park is well maintained by the local authorities and provides an amazing place for all generations. There is a play area for the children, a friendly and popular café, duck pond, band stand, exercise equipment and acres of space to explore. All on your door step.

Collett Day

Collett Day is a Collett Park Charity event supported by Shepton Mallet Town Council, it is an event which is attended by thousands of people both local and from afar. There are charity stalls, food and drink, and entertainment for all. It is also an opportunity to celebrate our beautiful park and historic town.

Shepton Mallet Lantern Festival

This is a well organised event which takes place in December. There are workshops held in the lead up to the event for families to get involved in building their own lantern, which they then can parade through the town and Collett Park in the evening. It is amazing to see all the creative lanterns and the effort the organisers and the participants have contributed.
